NASA Scott Kelly will conduct experiments that will help Space Agency to find out more about how the space changes the human body in space.
Two crew members consider themselves good friends now, and they expect to stay close throughout the mission, Kelly said.
Kelly's twin brother, astronaut Mark Kelly, will take part in some scientific experiments on the ground to assess the physiological changes Scott in space compared to the mark on the ground.

You may try to tell us how clever you think you are but the painful fact of the matter is that the human body is not built to be in space for a long time. Yes, we have 'dabbled' over the past years, but nothing serious has been carried out because we do seem to have a fundamental problem with space...

This mission is further justification for the ISS, a completely necessary step for deep space manned missions, and it even has the added attractions of setting a record and having a twin astronaut on the ground for scientific comparison. Kudos and love to NASA. Go boldly.

Russia own space. They invented the liquid fuel rocket, the helicopter, the first satellite, first human in space, first space station and have ran 18 more space station missions than the West.
Without a space shuttle, they might be sabre-rattling with Russia, but it's all persiflage and guff.
