1882 Winchester, which was found leaning against a juniper tree in the masonry stones and branches at a distance of Nevada to a standstill archaeologists who took it, standing as if accidentally left there for more than 100 years ago.
The rifle was found a team of archaeologists in the national park of the Great Basin in November. It will go on display this weekend at the park, head of interpretation.

They can't find who owned it. Sounds like American gun laws haven't changed at all.

Reminds me of the time I was out backpacking and walked off the trail to, shall I say water a tree. Just minding my own business, when I look up and see a hand ax handing from a branch two steps from where I was standing. Hadn't been there as long as the rifle but could have been there for a few years.

Oh my lord... The right winger gun nuts on here are just gushing. You'd think they had found a long lost religious relic. Get over it. It's an old rusted out rifle. Not a piece of the original cross.
