Murder asteroids may not entertained Global Firestorm

Scientists have calculated that the asteroid impact that is currently eliminated Mexico 80 percent of all species on the earth - including dinosaurs - about 65 million years ago.

Earlier studies have suggested that an asteroid caused the earthquake, shock waves, heat, choking dust clouds that blocked the sun and caused temperatures to plummet. In 2013, researchers have suggested that the asteroid has also caused a global storm that played a role in causing mass extinction.

The problem with this is that it assumes that the initial impact was the cause of the firestorm. What I recall from the theory is that the firestorm was caused by the re entry of the ejecta from the crater that had a greater mass than the original asteroid. some of this mass actually remained in orbit for years but most returned to Earth within hours. It would have looked like a literal rain of fire around the entire globe.

I thought there was a current theory that the impact drove crust into space, which returned as a rain of fine glass particles. The particles burning up in the atmosphere would produce great heat and cause the proposed firestorm.

This experiment seems to ignore that theory and instead casts doubt on the idea that the firestorm was created simply from the impact blast itself. While it does seem to undermine that idea, it doesn't really consider the more likely scenario of a global rain of glass.

Not covered is what happens after the heat pulses. Typically any fire or heat intensity will cause a plant to stress and suffer total or near total loss of its leaves. If this is true as per study here then you have a very real and dangerous precedent. The worlds forests are now going to dry out in a matter of days. All it takes is a spark...
