Renowned Manhattan federal judge, who often butted heads with the US authorities in their handling of financial affairs, resigned in protest from the committee that advises the Ministry of Justice on how to use the evidence in court.
In his letter of resignation to the National Commission on Forensic Medicine, US District Judge Jed Rakoff said he felt that he "had no choice." He cited the decision of the Ministry of Justice that the Commission failed to consider the proposal, he supported the request of prosecutors to give more information about the forensic criminal defendants prior to trial.
