Bursts usually last only about 1 millisecond. At first, Australian researchers say they are observed in a real time.
Scientists call them "quick bursts of radio", or Fed: the mysterious and powerful pulses of radio waves, which seemed to come close to the Milky Way.
The first of these cosmic flares was found relatively recently, in 2007. Last year, the radio telescope in Puerto Rico discovered the same short and powerful waves object Parkes previously reported.

It has been said that the radio signals being broadcast from earth can be detected at a distance of 10 light years. The signals listed in this article are coming from a distance of 5.5 billion light years, making the ERP (Effective Radiated Power) required 300e15 times greater.

I certainly hope they are well beyond us and stay there!

From what I understand, recent measurements of the velocity and direction of movement of the Large Magellanic Cloud suggest that it is merely passing by the Milky Way, not orbiting it.
