International astronomers said on Tuesday that they had discovered the oldest known star surrounded by five Earth-sized planets, making it clear that the planets are formed throughout the history of the universe.
At a distance of 117 light years from Earth, Kepler-444 in two and a half times older than our solar system, which is 4.
5 billion years old."We've never seen anything like it - it's such a year-old star and a large number of small planets to make it special," said co-author Daniel Huber of the University of Sydney's School of Physics.

awesome find, perhaps it will show people that the real wonders of the universe are the ones we find (and prove) ourselves. from hypothesis to calculation to test to results! Well done to all involved.
