The capsule was laid as a cornerstone of the Massachusetts Statehouse, when construction began in 1795, he was placed there Revolutionary era luminaries including Paul Revere and Samuel Adams, Massachusetts governor at the time.
Capsule contain five tightly folded newspaper medal with the image of George Washington, a silver plaque, two dozen coins, including one dated back to 1655 and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts seal.
Newspapers were stacked in such a way that the names of publications is not always visible, but could be a copy of the Boston Evening Traveller - operation newspaper, which eventually absorbed in the current Boston Herald.

It would an interesting exercise to attempt to sort out the significance, if any, and relationship, if any, of the items placed there. I would presume they were not haphazardly collected.
